The Original Vanity Fair Ads from Harpers and Vogue, 1950s Photographed by Richard Avedon

Vanity Fair’s “Elegance Evolves” campaign was created from referencing its past. After 100 years old, Vanity Fair embodies sophistication, passion and elegance. It has the depth of heritage and experience to design intimate apparel for today’s modern woman that makes you feel beautifully put together and elegant every day.

Problem

Vanity Fair Brands is turning 90 years old. How do we bring this to market, generate revenue, and increase brand exposure that generates traffic.

Solution

Introduce a new line of intimate apparel that re-creates a vintage look inspired by original intimate apparel from past archives.

Execution

Re-create the photo ad campaign that was originally produced by the works of Richard Avedon and advertised in the 1920s copies of Harpers Bazaar and Vogue.

Highlights

The Elegance Evolves campaign
was received extremely well and was placed in department stores nationwide including Macy’s. Limited edition units were sold out.
